1-2/08 2008 marks the 15th anniversary of ICON Film Studios. Since 1993, Simon Lynx and Chris Woods have been making films, and in those 15 years, they've made over 20 films and worked on many different productions. They started off in their hometown of Utica, New York then moved on to Tampa Bay in 1995. Although they weren't called ICON Film Studios until 2002, both Lynx and Woods have been working on films together for 15 years and continue to produce the best films and productions that they can do. to their web site. 9-10/07 ICON shorts To Live Is To Die and The Quiet Place will play at The Tampa Museum of Arts Art After Dark series

channel, Tampa Bay On Demand is showing local short films and

with filmmakers and actors, it will be your place to go for independent
film in Tampa Bay. The channel is only on Bright House cable,
channel 340, go to the YOU On Demand section and look for Short

5/07 Friday, May 11th they will be a special showing of the ICON classic short film To Live Is To Die. The film will be shown at The Tampa Film Review. Also, that Friday will be a special night for one ICON member. It's Chris Woods' birthday on the 11th and he'll be turning 34. TFR starts at 8pm and is held at The International Bazaar on 8th Ave. in Ybor City. For more info on To Live Is To Die, click here. Simon Lynx is still hard at work with putting together T-shirts
for the new ICON store. Not only will Lynx make shirts for ICON,
but for other filmmakers and events as well. He will all ready
be making shirts for filmmaker Andy Lalino and actor Joel D. Wynkoop

is currently in production. Interviews with Redner himself and
family members have been shot. The film is directed by Shelby
McIntyre and Produced by Chris Woods and McIntyre as well. The
film will be complete by summers end. For more info on the Joe
Redner doc, check out the web site: joerednerthemovie.com. We're looking for films for Bay News 9s Tampa Bay On Demand Channel that will start featuring local independent short films (or trailers). TBOD is on Bright House Cable Channel 340. If you want to submit your film just e-mail me Chris Woods at cwoods4@tampabay.rr.com and he will tell you where to send them. VHS and DVD format will do. Once Bay News 9 and TBOD start to move forward with this theyll be a master address to mail movies to. WARNING: Just giving everyone a heads up about one thing. Tampa Bay On Demand is very PG and G rated. So films with language, violence, sexual content, nudity, adult themes, etc., CAN NOT be shown. Sorry about that but it is Television. But, if you edit your film for television you can probably get them in. Happy Birthday to Chris Woods who turns 34 on the 11th. Also ICON member Luis Matos turns 30 on the 11th as well and another ICON member, Craig Leitschuh turns 29 on May 9th.
4/07 This Friday the 13th at The Tampa Film Review, a classic Creeping Death episode will play. Its the 10th Anniversary of the episode Warhammer. This is a must see for all ICON fans. TFR starts at 8pm and
is held at The International Bazaar on 8th Ave in Ybor City. For

3/07 Red Woods Productions, a division of ICON Film Studios is involved
with producing a documentary on the life of famous strip club
owner and political activist, Joe Redner. The film will be directed
by Shelby McIntyre who is an ICON member but will be producing
under his new company name, Aphelion Worldwide Entertainment along
with Red Woods. The working title for the film is now No Average Joe: The Story of Joe Redner. Right now the film is in production and hope to release the
film by this summer. There is also a new site launched for the
film, joerednerthemovie.com where you can read more about the film and watch the trailer
to the documentary.
